Botanic goes Jurassic for CHT!

| 9th May, 2019

Botanic Gardens will turn Jurassic this Saturday 11th May with dinosaur-themed activities for all the family.

The fun-filled event, hosted by Belfast City Council, will also support our work with local heart children, which is one of Lord Mayor, Councillor Deirdre Hargey’s chosen charities.

Taking place from 1pm-4pm, ‘Botanic Goes Jurassic’  will feature dino robotics, dino walkabout acts, craft workshops, archery, bouncy castle fun, face painting and much more.

The Lord Mayor said: “This will be a great afternoon out for all ages where you can walk with and hunt for dinosaurs and also help support and raise funds for one of my charities this year – the Children’s Heartbeat Trust.  Entry is free so why not come along to Botanic Gardens this Saturday and take a memorable step into the Jurassic world.”

Cathy Dalton, from the Children’s Heartbeat Trust, said:

”We are delighted to be involved with the Lord Mayor’s event this Saturday. This event coincides with our annual Heart Week to raise awareness of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD).  Over 200 babies each year are born with a heart condition in Northern Ireland and this event is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the impact CHD has on heart families and the work of the charity to provide emotional and practical support to those affected.”
