The Heart Heroes podcast is back! 🎙️
In episode 8 of the podcast, Cathy is joined by Helen Marshall, heart mum of three including Baby Rhea who is turning 1 next month!
Helen discusses signs that suggested that baby Rhea was unwell which in turn led to her being diagnosed with ventricular septal defect (VSD) or often referred to as, ‘a hole in the heart’ diagnosis and her heart journey from then on.
Rhea stayed on Clark Clinic before traveling to Dublin for surgery. This was a difficult time for Helen and her family but having the support from Children’s Heartbeat Trust helped relieve some of that stress.
“It was tough for us all but we’ve come out the other side better for it and we learnt some lessons that we needed to learn to understand what is really important and I’m just happy that I have my family and that we’re together”
We were delighted to hear that the Heart Heroes Podcast was able to offer some comfort to Helen during her hospital stay with Rhea and we love sharing these episodes with you.
