Impact on Siblings Project –

“Walking the line between risk and resilience: the experience of young people who have a brother or sister living with congenital heart disease”

Lorraine Kennedy, a Clinical Psychology trainee completed a research project with the aim of exploring the experiences of young people who have a sibling living with CHD through qualitative enquiry.  Children’s Heartbeat Trust facilitated her engagement with families and siblings.

This is a key area of interest for the charity as our support programmes are based around the idea of whole family support – as opposed to just for the child with the heart defect or the parents.
