The Children’s Heartbeat Trust is committed to supporting the Paediatric Cardiology Department at Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children’s active research programme.

The Connor Mulholland Research Fellowship Post was set up in ____ to support research activity and impact positively on the care provided to children with congenital heart disease in Northern Ireland.

Current

A new Connor Mulholland Research Fellowship Post to be based within the Paediatric Cardiology Department is due to commence on 1 August 2010.

Previous

Dr Angela McBrien was the first recipient of the Fellowship and completed a very successful two year research project which has helped improve antenatal detection of congenital heart disease.

Future

The Children’s Heartbeat Trust views the support of research as a central strand to its provision of support for children with heart disease in Northern Ireland. The charity is committed to supporting effective research activity, providing the foundation for pioneering diagnosis and treatment in Northern Ireland.
